Following the success of his muscular 2009 re-imagining of Conan Doyle’s Victorian sleuth, Guy Ritchie is sticking to the formula for this entertaining sequel. This time around the bohemian scientist/crimefighting genius Holmes (Downey Jr) and moustachioed sidekick Dr Watson (Law) become embroiled with their arch-nemesis, the chillingly sociopathic Professor Moriarty (Harris) following the suspicious death of the Crown Prince of Austria. Chuck in to the pot plenty of steam trains rattling across the Middle European countryside, vintage weaponry, busty dancing girls and a mysterious Romany fortune teller (Rapace), and you’re all set for a rollicking couple of hours.
